What is The Personal Barber Shaving Club?

The Personal Barber is the razor subscription that wants to turn your daily chore into a satisfying experience to look forward to.

We passionately believe that making the switch to a single-blade razor will change your whole outlook on shaving. Not only is it kinder on your skin so you can achieve a close shave without razor burn or rash, but there’s something very satisfying about using a single-blade that just isn’t felt from a modern, plastic, multi-blade razor.

That’s why we created our shaving club where you’ll be learning the art of the classic wet shave whilst getting to try a range of fantastic products to bring life to your morning routine.

Every 6 weeks, we curate a selection of only the finest wet shaving gear from all over the world, introducing you to the lesser known brands and small businesses that you don’t see in the supermarkets.

Make the switch to one of our single blade razors (included free in your first box) and find out exactly what you’ve been missing:

  • Warm scented lathers and effortlessly close shaves.
  • Suitable for sensitive skin. Eliminate irritation and say goodbye to shaving rash!
  • A huge variety of artisan soaps/creams, post-shave balms, colognes and more. Every kit is different so you’re never bored.
  • A clean conscience; no more plastic cartridges. Our blades are 100% recyclable.

Pre-shave box – Post-shave box – Extra-care box

Our latest kit is the “Post-Shave Box” which will be going out to renewing subscribers between October 1st – November 15th. On top of a new shaving soap and restock of 10 blades, this kit always features a post-shave balm to help calm the skin after shaving and promote the healing process so it feels comfortable all day long. We also usually showcase a solid cologne in this kit which we believe is one of the most exciting new products that every gentleman must try.

shaving soap tin coffee sccented the personal barber

Dark Roast Coffee Vegan Shaving Soap RRP £9.95

We’re incredibly excited to unveil this brand new shaving soap, made in collaboration with the fantastic artisan soap maker Twa Burds Soaps, based in Glasgow, exclusively for The Personal Barber subscribers. Twa Burds Soaps specialises in handmade products using natural ingredients without added parabens or unnecessary preservatives. We’ve featured them a few times in the past and they always receive great reviews.

We wanted to do something a bit different this month so we asked the team if they could create a bespoke scent just for our subscribers. For this soap we wanted something completely different, that you won’t have tried before; enter the irresistible scent of dark  roasted coffee to wake you up in the morning.

The soap has a vegetable glycerine base making it suitable for all skin types but also makes it very easy to work with. In seconds you’ll have a dense, cushioning lather that moisturises the skin, leaving a great post-shave feel.

The scent of shaving soaps and creams are designed to only last during your shave. Once you’ve washed it off, the scent doesn’t linger long so it won’t interfere with your choice of aftershave

To use: Work the top of the shaving soap with a slightly damp brush until it’s fully loaded (10 seconds) and then start building your lather as normal either in a bowl, your hand or directly on your face. If it seems paste-like, keep adding drops of water until the desired consistency is acquired. You want to aim for a shiny meringue-like consistency.

Ingredients: Aqua, propylene glycol, sodium stearate, sodium laureth sulphate, glycerine, sucrose, sodium cocoate, sodium xylene sulphonate, titanium dioxide, stearic acid, tetrasodium EDTA, tetrasodium etidronate, parfum

post shave balm fleming and brown

Fleming and Brown Azure Post-Shave Balm RRP £8.99

Fleming and Brown are a Manchester based brand who take pride in their own range of high quality male grooming products using British ingredients.

Their post-shave balm has been designed specifically to combat the feeling of raw irritation that can sometimes occur after a shave. Completely paraben free so it’s suitable for sensitive skin, only a small amount is needed to rehydrate and nourish, leaving your face feeling soft and comfortable all day.

The azure fragrance is a light and subtle scent comprised of top notes of mandarin, lemon and violet which are enhanced with ozonic florals and a background of sandal, cedar, amber & musk.

Ingredients: Aqua (water), caprylic/capric triglyceride (light coconut) oil, vitis vinifera (grapeseed) oil, glyceryl stearate S/E, glyceryl stearate, PEG 100 stearate, glycerin (veg), cetyl alcohol, stearic acid, glyceryl stearate, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin1

Aysgarth solid cologne malt requisites

Malt Requisites Aysgarth Solid Cologne RRP £19

Malt Requisites is a small-batch fragrancier that creates beautifully scented solid colognes inspired by Yorkshire.

This unique product uses a highly concentrated beeswax base, combined with moisturising shea butter and jojoba oil, meaning there is no water content, allowing for a higher concentration of fragrance, and no alcohol, so it’s much kinder to your skin. Compared with a bulky glass bottle of spray aftershave, solid colognes are perfect for carrying in your pocket, gym bag or on an airplane. The conveniently sized tin is discreet allowing for quick and simple application on the go, whenever you need a top-up.

The Aysgarth scent, inspired by Aysgarth Falls, features head notes of honeysuckle and amber, set against deep soul notes of woods, oakmoss and musks. The aquatic heart rounds the fragrance and describes the journey through the half-mile of Yorkshire waterfalls.

To use: Gently rub your finger over the balm and then apply to your pulse points such as your wrist, neck and behind your ears. We use the pulse points because they heat up the cologne, making it last longer. Scent should last roughly 3-4 hours before it may need reapplying.

Ingredients: Beeswax, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Black Pepper Essential Oil, Ylang Ylang Essential Oil, Vanilla Essential Oil, Ginger Essential Oil, Parfum

Made in Russia as part of the 7 O’Clock range of Gillette blades., these are known as "Gillette Greens" to have a reputation for giving a consistent, smooth shave. Last 3-7 shaves per blade.
